Introduction:

  • Applied the  GEO-SLOPE to Analyze the flow of water through the levee.

  • Investigated the stability of the slope under HWL (High Water Level) and LWL (Low Water Level) conditions which respect to the tidal variations. (Fig. 3-1)

Details:

  • Analyzed the flow of water through the dam(Fig.3-2).

​

  • Calculated the FS (factor of safety) of the slope in HWL and LWL conditions.

  • Compared the results with hand calculation,  and figured out the critical station in LWL which FS=0.9 (Fig.3-3) < 1.5 (requirement).

  • Determined the kind of earth retaining structure to be used based on the construction time, cost, efficiency and comparison with other methods.

  • Used shotcrete face to increase the FS base on analysis.
